A bit of history...

The Blue Mountains National Park is a protected national park that is located in the region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia, currently managed by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service. Its genesis was a proposal by the early conservationist Myles Dunphy in 1932, and since 2007 is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list.

If you’re a nature lover and are in Sydney, you have to visit the Blue Mountains National Park, as you will find several hiking trails, scenic lookouts, and waterfalls to explore, not to mention that the area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas.

Why is it called the “Blue Mountains”? Because the eucalyptus trees that cover the mountains release an oil that evaporates into the air and creates a bluish mist, setting the blue haze that often appears above the mountains.
